Caries results in demineralization of dental tissues and occurrence of cavities. Precise diagnostics is one of the most significant steps in the effective preservative therapy planning. Laser diagnostics along with fluorescence and radiologic tests are performed in our Clinic. It allows to differentiate between reversible and irreversible changes.
Reversible changes (early caries changes without dental cavities) may be treated with non-invasive methods such as ozone therapy or PAD (photo-activated profound oral disinfection with laser light). Both methods along with tissue remineralization allow to avoid drilling and in turn invasive treatment.
PAD - proper solution of toluene chloride, that binds to bacteria walls, is rubbed in the locus of dental caries changes. After illumination of this locus with laser beam, bacteria are split, hence, caries is eliminated.
The Dental Excellence Clinic is a precursor of this method in
Poland.
Ozone therapy – this method bases on application of proper amount of ozone in the locus of caries changes. It results in sterilization of these changes which enables dental tissue remineralization.
Irreversible changes (dental cavities) are treated with micro invasive methods, that is methods that maximally preserve the tissue.
We use aesthetic and functional ceramic fillings with durability of 10-15 years instead of fallible composite fillings!
Be careful! Attritional wear of composite fillings leads to quick parafunction, scraping and changes in temporomandibular joints!
